The automatic system consists of analytical instrument and bacterial growth medium. The instrument has been installed and debugged before leaving factory.

The enzyme hydrolyzes the substrate of growth medium and releases mu (fluorescent product), which can produce stronger fluorescent signal when the on-line detector alarms. E. coli growth medium contains suppressant to prevent the growth of non coliform bacteria.
